ReiLynn Designs 2025 Newborn Session Packages for In-home photography sessions

FAQ

When is the best time to book my in-home newborn session?

The absolute best time to book is in your second or third trimester. That allows optimal planning for your session and guarantees a spot when baby arrives. Some months book fast, so I take a limited number of sessions to ensure each of my due date reservations gets scheduled as soon as their baby is born.

The second best time is as soon as your baby is born. Newborn sessions are best done within the first 14 days, while babies are still curly and sleepy from being in the womb.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! Payment plans are available for session fees and/or packages. Just note that your session fee must be paid in full 24 hours before session and packages will not be ordered until your payment plan has been paid in full.

What is the ordering process like?

After your session, I cull and edit your images and will have them in an online gallery within 2 weeks. From that gallery, you can choose your package and any additional products you would like and check out online. I'll create your custom products, and send you a review proof to finalize your order. It takes my professional lab to 1-3 weeks to send our products and then I bring them to you once they have arrived from my professional lab.

What payment methods are available?

To make your credit card or debit card payment easy and seamless, we send invoices online during booking and ordering appointments. That way, when you arrive at your session, the only thing you have to think about is capturing your family!

How do in-home newborn sessions work?

They are so easy for families with newborns! It's best to book your newborn session by due date, before baby is born. When your new bundle arrives, we set a date within 14 days of arriving home from the hospital. From there, I bring all the props and set ups to your home- while you relax and let me work my photo magic! It is best to have a 5x5 foot spot close to a well-lit window.

Do you offer family or sibling photos?

With your in-home newborn session, I always suggest having family and sibling photos taken! I know it can sound like a daunting task to get everyone all ready for photos. But I like to keep it simple and being in your own home, makes it much easier. Parents and siblings can get ready during the newborn portion of the session, so there isn't a huge rush before the session.

Why do you only offer in-home newborn sessions?

Years ago, I started out having studios. It made it easy for me to pre-set up props and designs and I had access to everything to make my part of the sessions go smooth. However, I realized pretty quickly that first time parents and parents with multiple children would come in overwhelmed and a little stressed from getting ready and out the door, many times, for the first time since their newborn was born.

Only offering in-home newborn sessions takes the stress out for everyone. You can relax on the couch, older kids aren't overstimulated by visiting a new place and also aren't as bored in their own home. Another one of my favorite parts of in-home newbon sessions is there isn't the time crunch to get everyone out and pack everything you need on babies first trip. Having a calm environment is so important for a successful newborn session- and being in your own home, helps put everyone at ease.

I'm not sure my house will work for an in-home session. How much space do you need?

Over the the years of doing in-home sessions, I have never encountered a home that didn't work for an in-home newborn session. The least amount of space needed is a 5x5 foot area, so usually the floor space in the living room, close to a window. If your home doesn't have much natural light, that's okay too! I do have a lighting kit. Part of doing an in-home newborn session includes bringing a small portable heater, so a plug in close by is also helpful :)

Do I need to buy any props for the session?

There is no need to purchase anything special for your session. I have thousands of props. At booking, we go over themes and color schemes for your session and I plan out all the props, wraps, backdrops, blankets and bring them to your in-home session. If there is a special blanket or family keepsake you want integrated into your newborns images, I am happy to add that!

I got hospital photos done, why do I need a full in-home session?

Hosptial photos are fantastic! But usually, they are done on the hospital's timeline. In-home sessions are done on babies time- with lots of breaks for feeding and calming. They are also customized with colors/themes that are most important to you and your home and family. Galleries range from 20-30 images and can include family and sibling images. There is nothing like having your photographer cater to your personal needs in your own home.
